Finneytown Mourns The Loss of Young Student Athlete
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of one of our own Wildcats, Demarco Bryant, Class of 2025. Marco was taken from us far too soon on Sunday, September 13,2026.
Marco was so much more than a student. He was a friend, an athlete, a Restorative Peer Mediator, a participant in our Black History Month performances, and an all-around charismatic young man who brought energy and personality wherever he went.
Marco was involved in so many areas of our school community. He played basketball, ran track and cross country, participated in boys volleyball, and played soccer. Whether he was competing on the field or court, helping others through Restorative Practices, or simply being Marco, he made an impact on the people around him.
Our hearts go out to Marco's family, friends, classmates, teammates, teachers, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Losing a young person is incredibly difficult, and we know there are many in our Finneytown family who are hurting right now.
Marco will always be a Wildcat, and his memory will remain a part of our Finneytown family. Please keep his family and all those who loved him in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.

Indian Hill Wins Boys Golf CHL Tournament

Football:
In what might be the game of the year and maybe even the decade, Wyoming outlasted Indian Hill in three overtimes 48-47. Wyoming is now 4-0 along with Deer Park. Mariemont and Madeira also won their CHL matchup in the first week of league play. Scores are on the news section below.
Top Performers for the first week of CHL play:
Tink Sellers-Deer Park QB-6/16 passing for 191 yards and 3 TD's. He also had an INT.
Morgan Brown-Deer Park RB-13 carries for 112 yards and a TD.
Devlan Daniel-Indian Hill QB-6/8 passing for 102 yards and a TD and 28 carries for 252 yards and 4 more TD's.
Sam Metz-Indian Hill WR-2 receptions for 60 yards and a TD. 9 tackles and a sack.
David Dupee-Wyoming QB-10/16 passing for 192 yards and 2 TD's. 7 carries for 51 yards and a TD.
Jonas Whalen-Wyoming RB-28 carries for 145 yards and a TD.
Cross Country:
Taylor, Finneytown and Taylor ran in the Taylor Invitational. On the girls side Wyoming was 3rd and Taylor 4th. For the boys Wyoming finished as Champion while Taylor was 4th.
Individual top finishers:
Girls-Abigail Hint, Taylor 7th Scout Shull, Wyoming 8th.
Boys-Fletcher Barnes, Wyoming 2nd Brandon Luebbe, Wyoming 3rd Luca Smith, Wyoming 4th William Lawson, Wyoming 5th Zach Weiskopf, Wyoming 6th.
Madeira, Mariemont and Indian Hill ran in the Mason Invitational. For the girls Mariemont finished 10th, Madeira 14th and Indian Hill was 18th. In the boys race Madeira finished first place, Mariemont 7th and Indian Hill 9th.

Girls-Maria Mavridoglou, Mariemont 30th Mary McIntosh, Mariemont 35th Hannah McParlane, Indian Hill 59th.
Boys-Tyler Martin, Indian Hill 2nd Blaine Causey, Madeira 3rd Patrick Larson, Madeira 10th Ryder Hilgeman, Madeira 12th Troy Harding, Madeira 19th Landon Schmidt, Mariemont 22nd.
Girls Soccer:
On the girls side of the pitch the CHL title is wide open. Six teams still have a shot at the title. Indian Hill, Mariemont, Taylor, Reading, Madeira and Wyoming are all still in the race for the CHL crown.
Big games this week: On Wednesday 9/16 Reading will be at Madeira, Indian Hill at Mariemont and Wyoming at Taylor.
Boys Soccer:
Four teams seem to be vying for the CHL title, although it is still early. Madeira 2-0-1 (5-1-1), Mariemont 1-0-1 (4-1-1), Wyoming 1-0-1 (5-2-1) and Indian Hill 1-0-1 (3-2-3). Some big games between these teams are coming up in the next two weeks.
Girls Volleyball:
Two teams remain undefeated. Taylor and Wyoming are both 4-0 in CHL matches. The CHL plays a double round robin in league play. Wyoming will travel to Taylor this coming week, Tuesday, September 15. The Jackets have a long CHL winning streak going and the Cowboys will look to end that Tuesday night.
Boys Golf:
Indian Hill is 5-0, Mariemont 5-1 and Wyoming 4-2 in CHL play. Henry Holsinger, Frosh, Indian Hill and Austin Marty, Frosh, Wyoming both lead the CHL nine hole averages at 39.0.
Girls Golf:
The Girls Post Season Tournament was held Wednesday. The Madeira Zons won going away with a score 329.

Girls Tennis:
Mariemont took a commanding lead in the CHL standings, knocking off perennial league powerhouse Indian Hill 5-0 on Wednesday. The Warriors are now 2-0 in CHL play and 12-0 overall. Mariemont had not beaten Indian Hill in Girls Tennis in 27 years. Indian Hills’s run of CHL victories goes back to 2003 without a league match lost.
